The Barretstown Gangcamp, founded by Paul Newman, is a peaceful place almost hidden among small villages in the Irish countryside near Dublin. This magnificent and enchanting place - with its castle, lake, gardens and fields - is where seriously ill children from all over the world are encouraged to do things they never thought possible. There are three sessions in the summer, each lasting ten days. They take part in activities such as horse riding, canoeing, high ropes, pottery, theatre, etc. By discovering that they are able to do all these things, they gain back their own confidence and independence.
