A modern house located on the outskirts of a small town near Cologne in Germany. The owners – he imports toys and nicknacks from China and she is a genetic engineer –designed the house themselves using a program called "Smartdraw" (a very simple and cheap drawing program, not a real CAD-program). The glass-front is constructed using an aluminium and wooden frame. It is a low-energy consumption house with a ventilation system (heat exchanger) and a rain water cistern for use in the garden, toilets and washing machine. (They plan to install a solar energy system for heating the water in the near future).
